115 years of Wichmann Orchids

Wichmann Orchideen is celebrating its 115th anniversary throughout the week of October 8-13, 2012. Founded in 1897 as an artificial and commercial nursery, today you can find many hundreds of different orchid varieties on over 9,000 m² of greenhouse space. The anniversary week at Orchideen Zentrum Wichmann has it all. You can benefit from various anniversary promotions when you shop there:

Friday at 11.00 and 16.00, the well-known orchid author Jörn Pinske will tell you lots of interesting facts about correct care and how to avoid mistakes.
Friday and Saturday the organic farmer Hof Rotdorn sells his products
Saturday, employees will be selling coffee and cake for a good cause. The proceeds will go to the “Fit for Kids and Cones” project of the Celle Child Protection Association and the Rotary Club Celle-Schloss.

Wichmann Orchid Center in Celle

One of Germany’s oldest and most renowned orchid companies. Founded in 1897, the business has specialized in the cultivation and care of orchids for generations and, with its approximately 8,000 m² of space, is now one of Europe’s leading orchid nurseries. It offers visitors an impressive variety of orchid species and hybrids across a 650 m² sales area. Today, it is run by the fourth generation of the family and is internationally renowned, in part due to awards won at exhibitions such as the Federal Horticultural Show.

Interested visitors can also take part in guided tours, during which we provide in-depth insights into our work, plant propagation, and plant care. This includes informative presentations and a tour of our greenhouses. In addition to orchids, our retail area offers a wide variety of green and flowering plants, as well as decorative accessories, planters, growing media, and orchid pots. In our online store, you’ll find all our products available for shipping throughout Germany and Europe.
