Terrarium orchids

Although orchids are so spoilt by the warm climate of their homeland that they do not grow outside in our latitudes, they feel so comfortable on the windowsills in our warm living rooms that we can still decorate our homes with them. Some varieties, however, freeze even at a mild 20°C and are unhappy without tropical humid air.

In times of modern greenhouses, thanks to which tomatoes can now even grow in Iceland, these requirements are no longer an impossibility. Not even for the windowsill at home! Like exotic animals, exotic orchids can also be kept in terrariums in which ideal conditions prevail thanks to heating, artificial lighting and humidifiers.
