The Orchitop is a completely new, innovative plant pot that mimics the natural growing conditions of epiphytic orchids such as Phalaenopsis, Cattleya, Dendrobium, Odontoglossum, ... and their cultivars. The plants grow just as they would in their natural habitat and reward you with healthy growth and abundant blooms. But terrestrial orchids such as lady’s slipper also feel right at home in the Orchitop. Watering errors - the most common cause of death for orchids grown indoors - are virtually eliminated.
1. Six new colours (yellow, pink, purple, turquoise, burgundy, orange) are available – bringing the total to 10 colours and offering even more design options than before, perfectly matching the various flower colours.
2. There is a twist-lock mechanism on the underside of the pot. This allows the newly developed saucer to be firmly attached to the Orchitop.
3. It is available in 3 sizes: the standard size is the Orchitop M, the Orchitop S is available for miniatures/young plants, and larger plants will find a suitable home in the Orchitop L.
The saucer fulfils several functions: firstly, it ensures that the Orchitop is always centred and secondly, the volume of the saucer is optimised for watering from below. It is also designed so that almost all of the water/fertiliser solution can be absorbed through the capillary action of the substrate. If you water from above, excess water will no longer soil the surface underneath with water running through – regardless of whether you use the Orchitop standing or hanging.
