Phalaenopsis gigantea (strong flowering)
Product information
Origin of the name
There is no mistaking why this species is called "giant Phalaenopsis". Its fleshy, waxy flowers grow larger than those of any other Phalaenopsis species. The thick leathery leaves can reach over half a metre in length.
Beware of space requirements
Only those who have plenty of space at home can purchase this specimen, as the windowsill is quickly too small a location. A small pedestal on which it can stand freely or a hanging plant in which it can spread out on all sides is a better choice.
Demanding orchid
But it is not only because of its space requirements that this species is only found in a few homes. It is one of the more demanding orchids that require patience and is therefore recommended for more experienced orchid owners.
They grow slowly, it sometimes takes years before they flower for the first time and buds open in slow motion. But once they are in bloom, they delight their owners with the most beautiful, delicately scented flowers. The characteristically variegated flowers make them popular

Simply great.
I took the plunge and bought a sophisticated orchid. The despatch and packaging are simply fantastic. Even in these cold temperatures, the plant arrived safely and with heat packs. Thank you for the free orchid (Liodoro). This is now the 12th Phalaenopsis and fits perfectly into my collection. I am already looking forward to the Gigantea flowering next year. Thank you very much and I wish the whole team at Orchideen-wichmann a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Stay healthy and I would be delighted if we could meet again.

Very good quality
I also have this plant and am very happy when it flowers for the first time, and my other plants (Phalaenopsis) of different species are flowering magnificently, the others are just taking a break.

Well packaged...
...and these were all the orchids I ordered, no plant and no flower suffered.
As described, the Phalenopsis is a young plant with two leaves. I'm looking forward to seeing it flower for the first time.
