Encyclia is a rather drought-loving orchid and therefore well suited for home care in low humidity.
There are approximately 100 different species of this genus. Most species come from Mexico and the West Indies. But there are also species growing as epiphytes in the subtropical areas of South America.
Special orchid care instructions for Encyclia
A bright, in summer shady spot in the home area is ideal. This genus likes cool nights in summer and often reacts with rich flowering. Temperatures between 20-25 °C during the day and 15 °C at night are ideal. In winter, rather lower temperatures are better. Abundant watering during shoot growth and very careful watering in winter are the best for Encyclia. It is best to fertilize at least every 14 days with half of the specified concentration.
