Epidendrum
Epidendrum is a very versatile genus. From very small to super long, they are there.
The over 700 species come largely from Central and South America. With a few exceptions, Epidendrum grows epiphytically on trees and rocks. In this genus, botanists have undergone extensive rearrangements in recent years and some species have been distributed into other genera.
Special orchid care instructions for Epidendrum (Epi)
Epidendrum needs a bright sun-drenched location. In summer you may have to shade a bit, so that the leaves do not burn. In summer Epidendrum tolerates temperatures of 18 - 25 °C. In winter it likes a bit cooler at 12-15 °C. During the growth phase it should be poured pervasively. Epidendrum, however, has a distinct rest period in which it should be kept drier without the storage organs (bulbs) shrinking. You should always be careful with fertilizer.
