Terrarium Orchids
Although orchids are so spoiled by the warm climate of our home country, that they do not grow outside in our latitudes, they feel so comfortable on the windowsills in our warm living rooms that we can still decorate our homes with them. Some varieties, however, freeze even at mild 20 °C and are dissatisfied without tropical humid air.
In times of modern greenhouses, where even tomatoes grow in Iceland, these requirements are no longer an impossibility. Not even for the local windowsill! Like exotic animals, exotic orchids can also be kept in terrariums in which ideal conditions prevail thanks to heating, artificial lighting and humidifiers.
